What are the core skills and attributes of the Board?
The Board is led by Chairperson, Judith Lovegrove, who leads the Board of Management (directors) with expertise across clinical care, finance, risk management, governance, and cultural needs of its Elders. The Board is supported by various committees: Finance and Audit; Quality and Clinical and Risk Management.
What is the Board’s role?
The Board’s role is to provide high-level governance, strategic direction, and oversight, ensuring the organisation delivers culturally appropriate, holistic care (spiritual, cultural, health) for older Aboriginal people, aligning with national standards for aging, by setting vision, managing risks, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability to the community and stakeholders.
What is the importance of our services?
Aboriginal Community Services (Aboriginal Elders Community Care Services Inc.) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in South Australia that provides culturally safe, high quality aged care services for Elders, support at home to residential care at their Elders Village focusing on independence, cultural connection and wellbeing.
When does the Board meet?
The board meets on the last Wednesday of each month.
