For more than 30 years, Aboriginal Community Services has proudly provided culturally-grounded aged care for Elders. Our residential aged care home is the only one of its kind in Adelaide, dedicated specifically to caring for First Nations peoples. It’s more than just a place to live — it’s a place where language, stories and traditions are part of daily life. Whether it’s the smell of kangaroo tail roasting on the fire, or the sound of songs in traditional language, this is a space where Elders feel welcome and truly at home.
Residential Aged Care
A place where culture and care come together.
About the program – how we work with clients
Our Aboriginal Elders Village, located in Davoren Park, can support up to 33 Elders with low to high care needs for short-term respite, or long-term stays.
Established more than 30 years ago to connect increasingly isolated Elders to culture and community, the Aboriginal Elders Village continues this tradition, with staff trained in providing culturally sensitive and responsive care that meets the highest quality standards.
At the Aboriginal Elders Village, Elders are surrounded by art, music, food and activities grounded in First Nations culture, maintaining connection to identity and a sense of belonging.
Residential aged care respite
We offer Elders short-term respite care at our 24/7 residential aged care home — the Aboriginal Elders Village, in Davoren Park.
Respite care can support Elders, and their carers, for short periods over a few days or weeks at a time.
Pre-planned or emergency respite can be arranged by contacting the Aboriginal Elders Village.
Residential Lifestyle Program
From crafting beaded jewellery and sculpting native clay animals, to cooking kangaroo tail over an open fire and baking traditional damper, our Lifestyle Team creates culturally rich and engaging experiences for our Elders.
An intergenerational playgroup held fortnightly helps foster connection across generations through traditional songs, Dreamtime stories and shared play.
